Before Your Session

Simple steps to help you and your animal feel relaxed, prepared and supported.

A Calm Start Makes a Big Difference

Preparing gently before your session helps your body — or your animal’s body — settle more easily.
These steps aren’t strict rules, just supportive suggestions that create the best foundation for clear, responsive work.

Take what fits, leave what doesn’t.
Your comfort always comes first.

Human Sessions

Before Your Session

• wear comfortable clothing
• drink water beforehand
• arrive with time to settle your system
• take a few breaths before you enter
• let your body relax — you don’t need to “prepare”
• come as you are
• turn off your phone or silence notifications

Please Avoid

• heavy meals right beforehand
• intense exercise immediately before
• stimulants (excess caffeine, energy drinks)
• rushing to get here — your system will stay in “alert” mode
• wearing strong perfumes or heavy scents

These can all impact how your nervous system settles.

Dog + Pet Sessions

Before a Dog + Pet Session

• take your dog for a light toilet break beforehand
• keep stimulation low before arriving
• try not to schedule just after an emotionally big event
(e.g. dog park, vet visit, grooming)
• allow your animal to have some quiet time before the session
• bring familiar items if they help your animal settle
• let your animal walk in at their own pace

Please Avoid

• intense exercise
• high-arousal play
• new treats or unfamiliar foods
• stressful or stimulating environments
• appointments directly after a vaccination
• strong perfumes or heavily scented products on yourself
• feeding a large meal right beforehand

These can make it harder for your animal to relax or communicate clearly.

Combo Sessions

Before a Combo Session

• give yourself and your animal some quiet space beforehand
• avoid rushing or scheduling tight appointments around the session
• keep the household as calm as possible
• bring water for yourself and your animal
• trust the process — the session will unfold naturally

A calm beginning helps both nervous systems connect more easily.

Remote Sessions

Before a Remote Session

• find a quiet, comfortable space
• have your phone/computer nearby for the chat
• allow a few minutes to ground yourself
• if it’s a reading for your animal, let them be wherever they want
• you don’t need them “present” — the connection doesn’t rely on proximity
• take note of any concerns or questions

This helps create a clear, grounded environment for your reading.
